Welcome
Welcome to the Village of Sandy Creek, located in the Town of Sandy Creek, County of Oswego, New York. The Village is on the US Route 11 and Interstate 81 corridor, roughly halfway between Syracuse and the Canadian border. The village, incorporated in 1878, has a total area of 1.4 square miles, with a population of 771 according to the 2010 census.
Although primarily residential, the village is known for its year round recreational opportunities. Little Sandy Creek flows from east to west through the village and offers excellent trout and steelhead fishing. Lake Ontario and North and South Sandy Ponds are in close proximity to the west. Our record "lake effect" snowfall supports winter sports such as snowmobiling and cross county skiing. The Village of Sandy Creek is home to the Oswego County Fair, which has been held every summer in the same location since 1858. The Village Office, which is shared with Lacona, is located at 11 Park Avenue, Lacona 13083, phone 315-387-5781, fax 315-387-5782, [email protected]. Office hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 9:30-12:30, 1:30-4:00. Megan Sprague, Clerk/Treasurer, will be happy to assist you with any questions or concerns. |
